How To
Garden maintenance and weed control
Spring and early autumn are the best times to get the garden looking good.
Fertilising
- Give all your plants a feed. Fruit trees can be fed with Thrive Citrus Food, roses with Thrive Rose Food (make sure you water these in well).
- Most other garden plants can be fed with something like Nature’s Way Biogold pellets or Dynamic Lifter–just fling them around.
- Pots need a special fertiliser that releases slowly like Acticote.
Weeding
- Try to get rid of weeds before they grow too large and develop seeds, or spread themselves around the garden.
- Roundup Fast Action leaves no residues in the soil and visible results can be seen in just 48-hours. You can plant within days or wait until after the weeds have died. Some weeds with underground parts will need follow up treatment.
- DAS is good for treating weeds in paths and driveways but remember nothing will grow there for up to 12 months.
- Unwanted trees and shrubs are harder to kill so you’ll need a specific product like Yates Woody Weed Killer.
