Gerberas, with their colourful daisy flowers sitting on top of upright stems, are some of the most popular cut flowers.

Press lightly (as seeds need light to germinate) into trays of Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Firm down and water with a fine mist spray. Retain moisture by covering with glass or plastic cling wrap. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle.

Care

Choose a sunny position with excellent drainage. Add Yates Blood & Bone before planting and fertilise regularly with Yates Thrive Soluble Plant Food. Do not over water. Protect from snails and slugs with Yates Blitzem Snail & Slug Pellets.

Hint

Water around base of plant, keeping crown dry. Mulch with coarse material or gravel to avoid splashback onto plant.
