Garden ready!

Firstly a BIG thank you to Yates for sponsoring this Challenge & having Sarah, the Lovely Gardener, providing moral support & encouragement. Also to fellow Challenge bloggers for your company & kind remarks.

I’ve enjoyed participating again (2nd time) & find it helps keep me focussed with getting my summer garden up & running. Always a big job tidying up after winter, raising seedlings, prepping the soil & getting eveything planted before the heat of summer arrives. So a good “Project” for this time of year for me.

This photo shows the jungle that is the main part of our vege garden – 9 1×2m raised beds + a 1/2 width along the back fence.                (I have 2 more beds & various other patches + a good assortment of berries & fruit trees) Things seem to be a couple of weeks later this year with more cooler days, but that’s OK by me.

I still need to plant chilli seedlings (DH is a chilli-head so he has LOTS!), kumara & the climbing beans for drying. But the bulk of the job is done & I’m happy with how things are growing so far. Now it’s time for enjoying the flow?flood of produce & maintaining plant growth with feeding, mulching & watering.

So time for some of my other Projects: potting up native tree seedlings I raise to give away = part of my efforts to reduce my carbon footprint, my impact on climate change.
And to work on my art, I have an exhibition booked for April & still have lots to do for that.
Seasons Greetings to you all & thank you again for your companionship.
Clare
