My kale and kohlrabi has been taking a hammering from caterpillars, I dont think they are from the white butterflies as I havnt really seen them around and the caterpillars are much smaller. Anyway doesnt matter where they are from they cant stay so out came the Yates Naturesway Pyrethrum, first I remove most of the leaves and then gave the plants a good spray. This is why I dont like to grow brassicas in summer.

I was careful not to spray any other plants because I noticed that my ladybird friend did go and tell his friends and I how have quite a few ladybirds feasting in the garden.  It only means one thing though ’aphids’ but ill let the ladybirds do their thing.

I picked another massive bowl of lettuce as that other one only lasted one day, Yes we eat loads of lettuce. Might be time to plant more lettuce.
