Garden ready!

This is my garden today. The asparagus bed in the middle of the photo is covered in loose barley straw, and behind that a crazy row of a gazillion things.

When I was making this new garden, I had a big seed drawer clean out and anything with an old date was randomly sprinkled into this bed.

If anything grew it would be in leu of a cover crop –amaranth, carrots, artichokes, sunflowers, brussels sprouts, silver beet, calendula, Mizuna, collard, celery, spinach, kale and more. Much to my surprise lots of things grew!

If I am to live by my “Clear paths” rule that I have set for myself – this garden needs a clean out. It is leaking over onto the garlic and spring onions bed directly behind it.

It is such pretty chaos that I am putting off clearing it out.

The ground is way too soggy to garden anyway.
