This unique Zucchini is parthenocarpic (self pollinating). This is a real advantage during poor weather, because it means Partenon can set fruit without relying on bees to pollinate the flowers. The tasty, succulent fruit are an attractive deep green, with glossy skin.
For early sowing, raise in pots of Yates® Black Magic® Seed Raising Mix in a well-lit, protected spot. Transplant after 2-4 weeks. For direct sowing press 3-4 seeds into the center of a shallow depression (so that water is directed to plant roots) on top of a raised mound of moist soil 70cm apart. Later thin to the two strongest plants.
Select a sunny, well-drained position. Add compost and Yates® Thrive® Natural Blood & Bone before sowing and feed regularly with Yates® Thrive® Soluble Fertiliser. Keep well watered at base of plant. Pick fruit at when small and tender for prolonged harvest. Protect from snails and slugs.
Harvest when zucchinis are about 15cm long, to encourage higher yields. Keep well mulched.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
