A perk of living in the South

I always look forward to this time of the year, as these beauties start blooming.

Peonies do really well down here in the South, as they need a chill period (at least 3 frosts), to flower. And boy they don't disappoint when they do!

I just wish the season was longer to enjoy them, but I will however cut some buds to put inside to really enjoy them. Unfortunately they were planted (from the previous owners) on the side of the house I don't venture to as often, ie away from the vege gardens. They do really well there, and I have read they don't like moved, so there they shall stay!
