I couldn’t help but smile after looking for my Husband and baby - I went into the lounge to see this sight - brilliant Dad ingenuity to keep the sun off our little one while he weeded his garden!
This garden in front of the lounge window used to have a very large Yukka in it, which blocked out a lot of light from the house, the view outside, and those spiky leaves were just a little too dangerous!
After pulling it out, we made a pack, that this garden would be his garden - I have the rest of the gardens where I plan and do a lot of the choosing, but with this garden I have no say, it is all his - which also means I don’t need to weed it!
Forget-me-nots may be a weed to some, but we really enjoy them in this garden, and come a few months there will be sweet peas climbing up the trellis and alstroemerias flowering.
Happy Fathers day to all the Dads, Uncles, and Grandparents out there - this is the first one we have celebrated (with a baby on the outside!), and we certainly have a new appreciation for all that Dads do!
