Blog Type:Mini Challenge - GROW TO GIVE, Vegetables

Another productive day here in the naki!! Overcast with little sun and wind. I had to replant my cucumber, gherkin, pumpkin and watermelon seeds as the last lot decided to be lazy and rot (ok it may be my lack of keeping an eye on the water in the bottom of the tray). I had half a bed of lettuce that was ready to go so since it's national gardening week I thought I could use the excess to go towards it. Harvested, washed, dried and packed 1.5kg of lettuce. Husband is going to take it to work tomorrow to hand out. I've put the bags (200 grams each) in our beer fridge for now. Our food bank is only open on a Tuesday but I will have some more produce ready for them in a few weeks time. I replanted cabbage and cauliflower where the lettuce was. Gave the whole garden a good feed of seaweed fertiliser and blood and bone. Tomatoes are coming along nicely but I did notice that the tags I made for them are faded and I can barely see what I wrote on them. I have made progress on my soon to be business and created a Facebook page for it, so now there is no going back. I'm just trying to get a customer base at the moment so it's going to be more about getting set up but will slowly incorporate sales. Check it out if you like, I named it The Farlands Farm. I'm still trying to figure out how to use all the page features but I'll get there.
