Everything is ticking along quite nicely now. Most of the weeds have been pulled, I’m layering up the pea straw so they don’t come back and to help regulate the water and temperature in the soil, and the paths are all but finished, I just need to finish raking them.
I have 8 raised beds in the garden, plus my glasshouse, berry fence, and other spots I cram edibles and flowers into, so thought I would start showing what’s going on in the different areas of the garden.
This planter box is one of our newer ones - while everyone was out buying toilet paper before the first lockdown, we went to the timber yard and garden supply store and got materials to make two new planter boxes - I definitely think we had the right priorities!
This planter is a real hodge-podge of plants, but also brilliant as I harvested so much just from this single bed for dinner tonight!
In it we have growing... Silverbeet, Calendula, Pansies, Carrots, Celery, Sweet peas, Tatsoi & Cauliflower.
Along the side of the fence to the left we have strawberry popcorn, sweet peas, pansies, sunflowers, and some rogue pumpkins I’m still trying to decide if I can leave or if they need to come out!
(also the baby monitor on the chair as I snuck out to get a bit done during nap time!)
