I have given myself a couple of days off. Cancelled everything... just to catch my breath and get better. The busyness of life can be relentless!
I was happily and carefully cutting the lupins off at the roots, pulling out weeds and chopping the lupins stems up into smaller pieces with my secateurs ... thinking about nothing else except the task at hand, and how good it was not to be disturbing the roots and the soil microbes like I usually do....when out pops a man from another planet and disbelievingly asks "why aren't you using the hedge trimmer for that?"
My answer... " because not everything has to be done at speed" The man-from-Mars beat a hasty retreat back into his home office.
There is alot of therapy to be had in the garden I find.
