Blog Type:Mini Challenge - Meet the Neighbours

It was hard to choose, but for the mini challenge I would like to nominate Gardening with the Dillons, for the well written blogs that are a pleasure to read, seed-saving inspiration and the cutest dog Chief!

Down here in Dunedin nothing much is happening in terms of gardening as the weather has been wintery. A bit of snow on the hills, but thankfully not too bad where we are (lest we forget the snowfall of Sep 2020). I’ve started watering indoor seedlings with some seaweed solution and can’t wait to get out this weekend to do the last of the spring sowing. Having some suspicions about the early carrot, beetroot and turnip sowings done in late August – not much is coming up. I may have rushed it a bit, being so nervous about the short growing season. Although things do tend to come up once you give up on them, I’ve noticed!

Garlic and broad beans provide a stark contrast growing next to the eagerly awaiting, empty-looking 'roots' bed.
