Peas Please!

I started peas in the greenhouse this year, with the thinking I'd get ahead of the need for them for Christmas meals, and also hopefully beat Wellington's chilly October/November weather.   Now I know most direct sow peas, but I seem to get good results this way.

These peas were planted about 5 weeks ago, and are taking off! Maybe not a dinner plates volume YET..... but we're on our way.... Love Homegrown Peas!  It's a mixture of snow peas for salads and traditional peas too!

....... AND I followed through with my succession planting and direct sowed between these and they're sprouting too! A couple for the snails.....and hopefully the majority for us.

Beans a story for another day.....but I think even with growing in the greenhouse, I planted out too soon ....but I have more on the go and looking better... so will make a note for next time on that one!

We love growing peas...eat them in the garden, or a Christmas lunch if you don't eat too many in the garden!
