Polyculture is where several things grow together in beneficial groups. I love a good jumble in a garden, and it makes perfect sense to me to spread your plants around to confuse any pests.
.... but it is much harder to work out any kind of rotation or even remember where things are planted. I was trying for more of this kind of forage garden, but Tim was very frustrated with me and the lack of order. He thought it was just a pile of weeds .... anyho, the new layout seems to have solved this marital problem.
This is the last patch of my forage style garden left and I just love it. Mustard, Miners Lettuce, Nastertium, Silverbeet, Chickweed, Daffodils, Lillies, Poppy, Hollyhock and a skeletal blackcurrent bush.
