Quick start with a cold frame

Hi gardeners!

Last October my eldest son and I went on a gardening course.  We were inspired ... & slightly discouraged, as we had so little started in the garden.

This year we're getting a jump on the growing season by using old windows to make cold frames. Though I have to say they're anything but cold in there.  It probably helps that they are double glazed windows.

The children and I had a mass seed sowing day, planting around 330 seeds. It was a bit of 'get something ... anything, growing' as opposed to reading the packet sowing instructions for ideal times or temperature ;)

So far, we've had a pretty good germination rate. Let's see if I can keep them alive - I'm not the best at remembering to water!! :(

Happy gardening.

Michelle
