The first of my strawberries are turning red and I can hardly wait. If I had to choose one crop that is worth the wait and the space it takes up in my garden then it would definitely be strawberries. So yummy and you always know it's summer when you pop them into your mouth.
I planted about fifty new plants this year and am hoping for an amazing crop.
I also love a crop that I can increase with no more money output just by planting up the runners.
Roll on being able to pick a basket for dessert.
I always make jam with the extras and give some jars away to family and friends at the end of summer.
