The slow start of the spring/summer planting..

I have a greenhouse FULL of seedlings all hanging out for Labour Weekend. Some, like Toms and Chillis will likely stay in the greenhouse longer because, well, it's Wellington! I also have a new upcycled window glasshouse being built that Toms and Chillis will move to

So...having received my packet of seeds from Sarah/Yates (Thank you!!) and it was Lettuce - the one veggie refusing to strike in the greenhouse, I decided a direct sow was needed. Out came my trusty square and my Garden plan, and in went 4 lettuce seeds! Afterwards I thought maybe I should have planted a couple in each space just in case, but for now - it's just 4!

These lettuce look amazing too - and right beside them is a bunch of rocket and baby spinach - for the perfect salad combo! Fingers crossed!

Anyone got any other tricks for Lettuce over spring and summer?
