We're well into winter now with some cold temperatures but tonight I served up a little taste of summer from our garden with beef schnitzel and chips.
A deliciously crisp cos lettuce with diced bottled beetroot, grated carrots, mandarins from our small, but prolific, tree and a sprinkle of parsley.
I'm fortunate that the Big H loves a salad - even in winter.
Our garden is now looking tidy but very bare after a big clean-up last weekend. We are keen to get new strawberry plants in but there is apparently quite a shortage. Two of our local nurseries have sold out and won't be getting any more in, we have our name down on the waiting list at the 3rd nursery - fingers crossed!
