Black Cherry was chosen this year as it s a dark cherry, which I did not have, aswellbas due to its reported exceptional flavour.
There are many you tube videos on people's choices, the why, what, and their favourites, where the Black Cherry comes highly recommended if not the favourite! What I did not take into account is that the average American palate is on the sweeter side of mine. So while being an easy cherry to grow, it is the sweetest tomato I have tasted this year. It is an enjoyable tomato, and has some sort of Black Krim type flavour to it but this is overpowered by the sweetness.
I will keep this variety for next year as it adds good color to a salad, and it is pleasurable to eat when balanced with a less sweet variety like gardeners delight.
