Corn is in the ground!

Well, I had today off and did a bit of clean up with the water blaster, and pottered around a bit with the garden.

With rain looking to settle in, I thought would get the corn into it's new bed. I have calendula, marigolds, alyssum and nasturtium along the outside edge as companion plants. Carrots will be to the left, between the corn and onions.

Golden Bantam is the choice this year. Having grown up on a non sweet mealie (Maize) I find the modern yellow corn too sweet.  Kerry also prefers ghe less sweet corn of yester year. As 2023 is seed saving year a non hybrid is also needed.
