Does the wind have an off switch?

After a weekend of impressive but destructive wind my garden is abit worse for wear...covers were blown off letting birds in, seedlings were lost to gale force as I forgot they were out hardening. On the bright side I had to go to the garden center to get more zucchini seed after losing some of my seedlings and I may have come home with a zucchini plant and a sweet 100 cherry Tom (very restrained i thought)😏 and I even remembered the seeds! As all the tomatos are last seasons saved seed I'm not entirely sure what they will be so having a good cherry Tom means if all else fails I have one! My corn and a zucchini are hiding under this cover as it is just gross out there. Under a dome on the concrete are more tomato seedlings also hiding from the wind. The old rabbit hutch which is much to small for anything living is where I store my covers and some pots. It also makes a good seat in summer. This is all part of my top terrace the other 2 terraces are more like a food forest. I hope everyone is staying dry and haven't lost too much of there hard work to this wind!
