It is usually a saying I reserve for around Nov/Dec, but....we have flowers on our tomatoes!!!!

With the first day of the school holidays upon us, no sport, and inevitable showers, I thought I'd make the most of things and tidy up our little greenhouse, plant up the tomatoes, and remove a shelf to give them more room. Upon investigation, all three tomatoes are actually flowering.  I am suspecting I might need to do the little flick of the flower trusses to help with pollination.

This is certainly giving me confidence to get our spring crops going much earlier than normal.

In between showers I also managed to get the onions in. All in all, despite the non stop rain, I'm pretty happy with the way the garden is looking atm. We have enough spring onions, carrots, radishes to lessen the impact of the ever increasing grocery bills. We have a few peas as well. The brassicas, beetroot, and broad beans are growing rapidly. Given another month or so, we should have a very productive winter garden.
