Intoducing McCluck Inn. My surname is McCallum and my wife's was Clarkin and I used to jokingly call us the McClarkins. With this is mind, McCluck Inn seemed the perfect name for our coop.
We finally have chickens. Never thought this day would come. We built the coop with the intention of getting chickens in Spring but an opportunity came up to get some from a local free range farm that were about to send them off to become pet food. At 18 months old they are still laying and 5 eggs a day from 6 chickens is ok with me. Considering they only cost us $20 and they also threw in a tray of reject eggs, I think we got a bargain!
So far we have collected 19 eggs at a cost of about $5 of chicken feed. Definitely more economical so far. Putting aside the cost savings, it's just cool having them about.
Their names are Cluck Norris, Mic, Bock Choy, Bockington, Hen Solo and Henrietta.
