Having a walk around after mowing the lawns, including edges and the neighbours front yard, I noticed a lot of new happenings.
Beans are fruiting, so Blue lake runner green beans can be on the Christmas menu as part of a 4 bean salad.
Cucumber and zuchini are coming on well. We have had a few zuchinni already, but the cucumbers are what we are waiting for 😊.
I have oaxacan jewel tomato in fruit along with bloody butcher. This tomato is the only 1 that was kept from my first lot as it was a late starter and not with the others. Bloody butcher is a grafted plant.
The onions are doing great, I have been talking the seed pods of. These will be used quickly as fresh onions.
The biggest excitement is the corn. They have the husks showing silk and the crowns are forming well. I will give nature a helping hand and catch pollen in a bag to ensure proper pollenation.
Along with spinach, Silverbeet, spring onions, herbs, salad greens, peppers, yams, carrots, tomatoes, kumara and a few I can't think of right now, this season is going well so far!
