With my seeds taking a rather long time to germinate last year, some double sowing, and some no shows, I wasn't quite sure what to expect this year. Thankfully, only five days after sowing our first seeds, I have signs of life in multiple punnets. Our cos lettuce is coming through as is our rocket, spring onions, and cucumbers. Even a fennel seed has popped up. Mostly though, I am happy to see the cucumbers. Not one of ours germinated last year.
Whilst I would like to believe that I am going to get into the garden this weekend, I have to concede that it is highly unlikely. Tomorrow I have three additional teenagers arriving for birthday celebrations/sleepover. Next weekend, it will be a rinse and repeat as our other son turns 11. That being said, all the seeds are sown, and I'm pretty sure I will find time in the mornings during the week to attack a few minor jobs.
