Was SUPPOSED to be a morning of pricking out and potting on ( calendulas, sugarsnaps and strawberry popcorns are up AnD I set some expired broad bean seed to soak last night so drained them ready for sowing ( the entire packet bar 1 look like they will be viable!)
But then I was needed ... took me an hour to carefully remove this hardend chrysalis caul attached to this monarchs face, antennae and tongue . In the end had to very delicately shred it with the tip of a needle, was tricky as the tongue and antennae were inside that long bit so had to be super careful.
Poor fella! Must have been torturous having that wrapped tightly around your face
Not something you see everyday for sure.
