Tall trees and wind, no thanks

I'm starting to have withdrawals from the garden. This week has been the least amount of time I've spent out there in months. Between this pesky flu and the weird December storm going on it's just not happening. I know I'll need to go and pick more courgettes today but the garden is surrounded by these huge Australian Blackwood trees that are extremely tall and skinny and they bend in the wind which to be quite frank is terrifying when you're underneath them. So indoor journal planning for me today, I'm going to draw out my current beds and mark what I planted where so next season I know what worked and what didn't. A lot went really well this spring and I don't want to forget what I did!
My son and I also planted some sunflower seeds in trays, hopefully we're not too late in the season to start. We did plant our entire property fence line with sunflower seeds direct sown, we were super excited to see them pop through the soil and then over the next two days every single one was eaten. so we're taki be a different approach and hopefully manage to grow at least one before summer ends!
