I planted out this little block of lettuce over a month ago. I grew it from seed and as per usual had way too many so, after giving quite a few away, I planted the remainder close together in this square.

I have reaped the rewards. This has been a real "cut and come again" crop. We have been eating salads from this little block at least 4 times a week as well as using the leaves in sandwiches and filled rolls - and they are still going strong.

Back to my favourite thing - savings from the garden. Even now as we head towards summer, lettuce and bagged lettuce at the supermarket is anywhere between $2.00 and $6.00 (and it doesn't last very long). So for us eating salad at least 4 times a week that is a reasonable $ saving each week.
