It was super hot in Whanganui today. We got out into the garden just after 8, determined to beat the heat - we were still out finding jobs to do at 3 this afternoon when the sun was at it's "burniest"!

But we had hats, layers of sunscreen and our water bottles cooling in the fridge.

The box hedge around our herb and rose garden was trimmed, edges were done and SH rotary hoed the area of vegie garden that was where our spuds were up until a week ago. I weeded the whole vegie garden and SH erected our "White Butterfly tents" ready to plant out our brassica - cauli, broccoli and cabbage.

The soil was fertilised with blood and bone, general garden fertiliser and before I plant out our seedlings tomorrow there'll be a sprinkling of Dynamic Lifter. I also like to soak my new seedlings in some fish and seaweed fertiliser before they hit the ground.

SH linetrimmed and mowed our shared driveway lawns as well - we both showered and then sat out on the deck with a well deserved beer and wine before dinner.

Everything is looking so lush in the vegie garden - I'm loving having some time to spend out in it - with my fave SH of course.
