With the gardens cleared, or with just seedlings, we decided to take advantage of the long weekend.
The fences are getting a new coat of paint. Just the area where the Kumara is still growing will remain for another day. The new designs will not use the fence but have trellises similar to my tomato set up. The pepper garden gets a covering of a barrel of home made compost, a layer of leaves and a cover crop. This will have a new layer of leaf mulch or pea straw in August in time to put the new pepper plants in 2nd week of August.
Onions. Carrots and brassica wil keep the rest of the garden busy.
