It is amazing how the weather effects you. The more sunshine we get, the more I feel like my old self again. The time of year, and the change of temperature is making us all feel somewhat tired, but at the same time, it feels like that dark cloud that has been hovering above us is finally lifting.

While there is a bit of waterblasting and eco spraying-caravan-needed around the place, as more things pop to life, the more you see of the good things, and less of the rest. And that was certainly the case today.

The garden is really coming to life and there is something new each day to celebrate. Today my strawberry and cream rose was out, along with my chocolate cosmos, my cream marigold, a baby zucchini, a squash, and the race is on to see which emerges first...The Teddy Bear sunflowers, or my dahlias. My rhubarb, which while grew last year, wasn't at its best, is now loving the weather and is looking much more luscious.

The random seeds I planted in the squash bed are also coming through. These are mainly flowers. The idea was to create a kind of a living mulch in this bed as opposed to putting down any pea straw. The front part has some salad greens, but scattered between the frames and squashes are flowers. Not only am I hoping that it increases pollination, but that it also provides a barrier to the weeds. I am suspecting a few nasturtiums are going to be added to the mix soon.
