It has been a long time coming but our wildflower bank is finally starting to put on a show. I've been trying to reduce the number of dandilions and get other wildflowers establsihed and it looks like we may be starting to win the battle of the dandilions.
I'm pretty happy with how it has turned out and this bank is right next to our main vege patch. I firmly believe that it has brought in many beneficials and helped keep pest numbers done. I've seen more white butterfly on the bank than on the brassicas and while we have the odd green caterpillar, the plants have been ok. It's highly likely we have eaten the odd one too in the brocolli shoots but I figure they are nutrient rich anyway.
I shall be sending Haven out on a seed hunt to collect as many seeds as we can so we can scatter them on the other banks in the coming year.
