So this is my little boy, the one I mentioned in my last blog, enjoying big juicy strawberries for an afternoon snack. I experimented with strawberries this year, I have them in a 2m x 1m raised bed. Half the bed I dug up and split in around august, replanted with a handful of sheep poo, removed any flowers and mulched with pea straw. The other half I left alone to their own devices to do their thing other then a feed of seaweed. Well the results are in and whilst the maintained half are huge leafy beautiful plants there's not a lot of difference in fruit production. In fact the un maintained half fruited well before the other side. Both sides fruit equally as big and juicy as the other. So there you go, I'm back to square one not knowing what you're actually meant to do with strawberries 😅. I will post a photo of the bed tomorrow.
