I blogged a wee while ago about the lack of strawberry plants available to buy in Whanganui. I'm not sure what the reason was but there was a definite shortage and 2 of our three main garden centres here said they were getting no more plants in this season. The other centre said they were trying to source some and we eventually got 10 plants at a premium price!
Then Sarah the Gardener from Yates came to our rescue with runners from her garden.... Sarah - you are a legend! So... here in our little patch we have a few plants from a local grower and the bulk of our bed is planted with Sarah's babies.
So grateful and so looking forward to our strawberry harvest this year.
