Seems like corn is the theme this weekend. After enjoying corn on the cob last night with our dinner, No 1 Grandson and I decided to check out the strawberry popcorn I had drying in the shed. It was an interesting task to strip it from the dried cobs, but he got a rhythm going and, apart from some slightly red palms, managed to get a good amount of kernels ready for the pot.
We got the pot nice and hot and added the corn - lo and behold it eventually began to pop! What a thrill, I really wasn't sure it would work. But here he is with a bag of popcorn to take home to his three siblings. We did pimp it up a bit with some melted butter and a sprinkling of icing sugar - and it was a hit!
