Today I harvested the first of our brassica harvest which we planted in our tunnels several months ago. Unfortunately I was hoping the cauli and broccoli would be ready to harvest at the same time so that I could freeze a mix of cauli and broccoli cheese. But the caulis are way behind so broccoli cheese it will be.
These are two of four heads I cut today - there will be another six at least needing to be cut by the weekend. We had a delicious broccoli salad with our dinner tonight along with the last two cobs of our sweetcorn. We're spoilt for choice with green vegies from our garden at the moment - lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, cucumber, celery and capsicum... we're certainly "getting our greens"!
