Green Time

Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go right.  Well, that was my day.  But after one problem after another I thought to myself ‘Enough!  I need some green time.’  And I walked away from everything and in the pouring rain I headed to the greenhouse and spent a few hours sowing seeds.  It was such a calming time and it settled me right down.  But I still have a mountain of things to tend to but that is ok.   I love how the garden has that ability to soothe your soul.

On the bright side of things – I have tomato seedlings up.  Not only tomato seedlings – sometimes I think they get all the glory, but there are also beetroot seedlings, silverbeet seedlings, some flowers, some brassicas.  It is at that exciting time when every time you look there is more to see.  That is so much more refreshing than staring at empty seed trays and doubting my abilities to germinate seeds. To be fair my seeds weren’t the freshest, but waste not want not, I just sowed with a heavier hand in an effort to get what I need.  Some are still shy, and I may have to buy seedlings, but I’m ok with that.

And in Yates news – have you voted yet?   Over on the National Gardening Week tab – next to the Growing Community on the community dropdown on the Yates Website is the VegElection 2023.  All the vegetables have signed up and are seeking votes as the nations favourite.  And in true Yates style there are prizes up for grabs.  Everyone that votes goes into the draw to win one of three $500 National Gardening Week hampers lots more Yates goodies.  So pop next door and have your say in the VegElection!

Oh, and here is something else exciting, as part of the Vegie Growing Challenge, we have a stack of the Yates Heirloom seeds to give away throughout the challenge and each week one lucky recipient will be randomly selected to receive a pack of seeds.  It gets announced under the ‘what’s going on’ image and the opening week’s lucky winner was ruGrew and for last week Neil’s name has been pulled out of the hat.  Your seeds will be sent to you shortly.  Congratulations.  Keep an eye out for your chance to win seeds.

And on that note, I should go back to my chaos and make some kind of sense of it, so tomorrow is a nicer day.

I hope you all have a fabulous week in the garden and as always – if you want to get in touch leave a comment below.
