Gusting Strong Already

With the wind not meant to pick up until lunchtime today, we delayed doing any prep outside until this morning, thinking we had until 9ish before the rain came in. We did drop the basketball hoop onto its side yesterday though...aside from the tramp, that is the one thing that can do a bit of damage around here....either to the caravan or the glass in porch area.

That being said, we were woken about 6 with some very strong winds gusting through. Due to the direction of the wind, I knew I was likely going to have to drop the polytunnel. The netted ones are secured by ties on two sides (tied to trees or structures), but with only the A frame to tie this one to, and although it's pegged/wedged in, I knew it wouldn't withstand the  strong winds that they are predicting. I was right. It was already half on its side. Still secured, and in one piece. With the bbq hoop blocking the main door, and unable to squeeze it through the backdoor of carshed, I decided to just pop it into the dining room for the night.

Before it goes back into the garden, I think we will secure stakes to the back corners of the garden so I can tie the back ends to that.

For now, the old netted cloche is doubled over the capsicum so they are still protected/keeping warm.

And as for the rest of the day, it will be another indoor day, with more baking on the menu.
