What a wonderful combination! Now that we have harvested our potatoes there is a spare area which has quickly been dug over by SH with his rotary hoe and has already been fed with blood and bone, general garden fertiliser and dynamic lifter and planted out with brassica - cauli, cabbages and broccoli - covered by his amazing white butterfly proof cloches.
Yesterday was sunny and hot with 29 degrees. Today was warm and the rain arrived at midday, watering in our new brassica babies perfectly. But it put a stop to any outside plans so we turned to inside activities. SH is the baker in the family so he put our lemon crop to good use creating his delicious lemon slice to freeze for work lunches in 2024.
I am the cook in the family and I used some of our chilli, spring onions and garlic to create pork dim sums and won tons which we have frozen and also enjoyed for our chinese dinner tonight.
It's been a productive couple of days. Happy New Year!
