The last few days have seen three batches of pasta sauce made, another half kilo of blueberries put into the freezer, a tomato relish done, and today, our strawberry popcorn harvested.

The corn has been drying  in the garden, but with the husks now dry, and rain forecast, I thought it would be a good time to bring them in and complete the drying under cover. As this was our first time growing them I was a bit anxious about the next steps so hopefully I have it correct. After peeling the husks back, I've tied them in small bunches and they are now drying further.

The pasta sauce is now starting to full up the freezer. One batch has jalepenos added to it. This will be used for nachos.

And our relish. What can I say except that I got creative, and it paid off. I use the Edmonds recipe. But partway through I told the family I was going to risk the batch and instead of adding the normal curry and mustard powder, I was going to use the Marsala Blend that we got at the local Home and Garden show. IT is made by a family 5 minutes from us and it's phenomenal. I only put half the amount in to start with, but knew I was onto a winner and added the rest. And honestly, it's the most delicious relish I've ever made. I gave my youngest a bit to share with my mum the next day when I dropped him off while I went to work. They devoured it. Today my mum hinted for more.

The next step is to see what happens when I put the marsala in the pasta sauce. I'm thinking it will make a nice base for a curry/casserole for  the crockpot over winter.
