The tomato project has become a lot bigger than I planned but that is all part of the fun. I initially had the idea of growing all heirloom varieties this year, and I said I would help our local seed library with a project of propagating old seed to get new. Some of the seed is 10 years old.
I swapped some of the varieties I had with a friend and well - now I have 24 plants - all but 2 are heirloom, with another 4 coming. I ran out of room in the glasshouse - there are 14 tomatoes in there along with cucumbers, so todays mission was planting some outside the glasshouse in tubs.
I won the most amazing package from Yates recently -a $500 prize bundle of Yates products as part of the VegElection! It has tomato food in it which will be very handy!
I'm looking forward to the rainbow of colours this year!
