Looking at the back gardens today, I realised I had inadvertently planted the same colours everywhere in the back garden. I guess I really was after sunshine as there are oranges and yellows everywhere.
The yellow of the Teddybear sunflowers are just starting to pop up through the squash plants. The orange border dahlia is out, along with the new alstroemeria. Very soon more sunflowers (autumn shades) will be joined by the orange and yellow marigolds. This is in complete contrast to the purples and pinks in the front garden and BBQ area. Even when you don't plan, you plan.
Today has also been a day of reflection (prompted by a Facebook memory of our gardens last year). I was completely floored when I saw the pics. Last year's were about a month behind in growth. Tge most significant difference is in the tomatoes. This is very reassuring and hopefully signs of positive things to come.
