Stormy Days

My word the weather is horrid, like many places throughout NZ at the moment. I didn't hear anything during the night, but it sounded like things got very rough. The first thing I did when I woke up was check my tunnel houses and the wee shed at my gate (which I sell veges and indoor plants out of in summer) were OK! No damage to report thank goodness, just of my tunnel house doors had come off at the bottom and was flapping in the wind, but an easy fix.

We had strong winds about 5/6 months ago during the night, that threw the shed over a fence into the paddock - I'll add a pic in the comments. Which was fairly scary, so as a caution now I don't open it up in strong winds, even though its very secure now!

I got my seeds that we're knocked over by Harvey the cat in this weekend - cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkins and the tomatoes I lost. In previous years I always sow my corn and beans too early, the beans end up a tangled mess and then get hammered by the spring winds we seem to get once planted. So I figure in my garden I get no further ahead by getting them in too soon.

Defintely no gardening on the cards today, and I hope everyone else's gardens have fared well in this weather.

Oh and the tinfoil has worked a treat, poor Harvey has to find another comfy spot to snooze in until he learns to be more careful!
