Alyssum ‘Basket-of-Gold’ is a pretty perennial ground cover cloaked in a cascade of vibrant golden yellow flowers. A stunning statement when mass planted in billowing mounds of bright bloom. A charming addition to mixed borders, alpine rock gardens or spilling over the edge of a retaining wall or container.
Scatter seed thinly where they are to grow, or raise in trays of Yates® Black Magic® Seed Raising Mix. Barely cover, firm down, water gently and keep moist through germination period. Thin out or transplant when large enough to handle.
Choose a well drained position in full sun or semi-shade. Mix Yates® Thrive® Natural Blood & Bone and Yates® Thrive® Natural Garden Lime into soil before planting, and feed regularly with Yates® Thrive® Flower & Fruit Soluble Fertiliser. Protect from snails and slugs.
Cut back regularly to tidy plants and encourage new growth, or leave spent flowers to self seed. Alyssum attracts beneficial insects to the garden.
Store in a cool dry place away from direct Sunlight. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
