Batten down the hatches!

Well some of the bad weather has certainly hit. Woke up today with a sciff of snow on the ground. And snow/hail showers off and on all day. We are at near sea level, and don't often get snow in winter here, let alone at the end of September! The kids of course have been very excited it has been snowing!

I love snow, but not when we have lambs and I have precious seedlings to worry about. Thank goodness we have finished lambing, the lambs have a much better chance of surviving this nasty weather being older, but it still is very stressful worrying about them. We have plenty of shelter for them though.

Im not going to lie, I'm extremely worried about the plants I've planted out, and I'm expecting to lose some with even more snow predicted over night and tomorrow. But they look ok at the moment 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Also a bit nervous about the summer loving seedlings in the greenhouse, bringing them inside really isn't an option, as there's so many and also a little nervous with having the kids home all day, even though they know to be careful, accidents do happen!

So this afternoon I've covered them with the off-cuts of plastic I kept from when we put up our tunnel house, to try keep them warm tonight. I've left most of the back side un-covered for some ventilation.

I hope everybody elses gardens are fine with this bad spell of weather!
