Broad Beans - Yay or Nay?

One thing about vegetable gardening is that once it’s planted it will generally keep on growing!

Something we planted which seems like forever ago was our broad beans - we were enjoying them as little ones used in stir fries and curries,  but then haven’t been putting as much time into the garden as I would have liked recently and they really got away on us!

We’ve cut back one of our 3.5 gardens of broad beans, podded and blanched which is now 2 ice cream containers worth of beans ready to add to winter meals and make unto hummus!

What’s your thoughts on Broad beans? Yay or Nay?

My Dad has always loved broad beans, so I think it has been passed onto me - and they definitely have to be home grown not store bought - that’s one thing I love about gardening - is introducing people to a food they thought they didn’t like - only to discover they actually do if it’s home grown or prepared properly!
