Iris' have been a flower I don't feel I had any choice but to like, it was my Grandma's favourite flower and my Nanny liked all flowers, so when we moved into our own house it was on my list of 'needed' flowers.
Our first year they barely produced anything, and I thought that is just what they would do, but this year we're already into a magnificent display, and I feel the Iris' must have made a plan together because they are doing very well at their own succession of opening... the first lot in perfect timing for my parents visiting this long weekend!
I do have to laugh though - when my Husband first saw them he questioned why we had to have the ugliest flowers in our garden, but they are definitely 'growing' on him... luckily, because they are here to stay!
