There is nothing like wandering out to the garden to gather some produce for dinner. It is still fairly slim pickings so early in the season but I did manage to harvest some fresh snow peas and sugar snap peas and lemons for the salad and spinach for the spinach and feta pie.

The spinach was used for my favourite spinach and feta pie. This family favourite does use rather a lot of spinach, I have the cut and grow again type spinach in the garden but did go and buy some more seedlings over the weekend to build up stocks! Fresh eggs from the chooks also went into the pie.

The snow pea and sugar snap pea, bacon and avocado salad with a citrus chilli dressing is an adaption from an Annabel Langbein recipe. Here is the citrus chilli dressing https://www.rnz.co.nz/collections/recipes/citrus-chilli-dressing. The snow peas were just so divine having come straight from the garden!

We planted some chillies today as I am looking forward to trying out a recipe to make chilli jam.

Happy Gardening and Cooking everyone!
