Been a busy few weeks with work, so I've spent the last 2 days in the tunnel house reworking the soil and adding the water crystals. I have clay soil and was being lazy so just put the compost right in top and planted into it. Worked great for most of the plants, except the carrots and parsnips... so I thought!! Most of the carrot went to seed or stopped once they hit the clay layer, but when I pulled my parsnips 😱 they had penetrated right through the clay and were a decent size. A couple didn't manage to get through and had multiple roots sprouting off but what a surprise!!! Stocked with what I thought would have been a flop crop. Not many left as we had 3 for dinner and gave away 3/4 of them to family.
