Seems the chickens were a bit of a hit! Forgot to mention the quails. Hopefully they start laying soon, and they arent in fact, all boys! Ive included a pic of our orchard, the most blossums are on a plum tree of unknown variety, although they are small and sweet. The tree in the very back is an ancient feijoa tree that is prolific. Last year i got three wheel barrow fulls of fruit from it!

We also have Apples, Necterine, Apricot, Peach, Feijoa, Blueberry, Boysenberry and Pear.

This post does have a garden growing relevence, i use the waste from the ducks and chickens as compost on the garden, and sometimes as liquid fertiliser. Works a treat! However we do have a major problem with black birds and thrush. My useless Cat seems to eat everything except the couple of birds that manage to find a hole in my bird netting.
